The title of this post is two-fold. I feel I am very much in a “shit or get off the pot” scenario when it comes to fitness. I’ve spent far too long wanting progress, but not truly doing what I need to do to make any progress. Quite the rut if you ask me. Therefore, I’ve been remaining the same. That would be OK if I were happy with where I’m currently at, but I’m not, so I need to quit kidding around about it and do something.
I have a plethora of home workout DVDs along with a pretty badass garage gym. I need to start utilizing those resources. Shaun T’s Insanity has always been a go-to for me in terms of making a jump start at revving up my fitness game. I feel like the results come pretty quickly if I’m consistent with it.
So I’ve made the decision to start today. I don’t typically do the program the way they’ve laid it out. I have about 3-4 of the workouts that I enjoy (I use this word very loosely) doing and I just rotate those. I really hate the Cardio Recovery workout, so I skip that one. I’ll be doing enough barre classes on a weekly basis in addition to this program as soon as The Barre Code opens here in Charleston in a couple of weeks, so I feel I’ve got that covered. (More on that soon!)
I posted my stats last week, so I will use those as the starting stats, considering I don’t believe I’ve changed much in 5 days.
The plan is of course 4:30am wake-ups because that’s really the only time I have to get this workout in. It’s going to be a challenge, but after a couple weeks, my body will adjust. I do get up at around 5am already so it’s not that big of a difference.
Wish me luck!
