My husband and I will be making our second trip to the Caribbean together in November to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The last time we were in the Caribbean was for our honeymoon trip to St. Maarten (which took place nearly a year after our wedding!) We are definitely overdue for a visit to paradise.
That being said, I’ve got some work to do. As of today, we have 7 months until we take off to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Believe it or not, I weigh close to 25 lbs more than I did when this picture was taken.
I’m pretty sure I will be bikini-clad for the majority of our trip, so even if I don’t lose 25 lbs in the next 7 months, I do want to get to a place where I feel more comfortable in my skin. I also like to focus more on inches and aesthetic as progress vs. the number on the scale.
This brings me to this series, which I am calling “Road to Punta Cana.” I plan to make progress updates on my stats monthly.
The focus over this next few months (and in life, really) is going to be cleaner eating habits – tracking better, meal prepping consistently, alcohol only in light moderation, etc. and of course, working out consistently. I am excited to be working the childcare room one night a week at a new barre studio here in Charleston called The Barre Code. I will be able to take a lot of the barre and HIIT classes beginning in May when they officially open their doors. This will all be in conjunction with consistent strength training at my local gym and my garage gym. If you are in Charleston, check out The Barre Code!
To officially start this series off right, I am being very transparent with where I’m at right now. Here are my current stats:
Hope you’ll keep up with my progress – I plan to share a lot of fitness and meal prep tips along the way!
