I am now 6 months out from jet-setting off to Punta Cana! (Well as of last Thursday because I am posting this a couple days late.) Anyway, I will say my first month wasn’t hugely successful, and it had some disappointments.
For starters, this past week I have been out of commission with my workouts. If you read my post earlier this week, you know that I had some back issues arise, which ended up really putting me out. I was on a good stride with my Insanity workouts and after doing a workout Monday and thinking my back was OK, I ended up pulling a muscle later that night and had to stop working out this week.
Needless to say, my stats haven’t changed much and my weight is still the same. I will say I do feel a slight tad toner than I had been, though I doubt it’s enough for anyone but me to notice. How does the saying go?
I am starting Insanity again today (with extreme caution of course). I am going to be very cautious with my exercise choices and maybe use lighter weights for some moves than I usually would. I’m not going to let this break me, I have to take it day by day. I do still have 6 months to make some major progress, so I’m hopeful that I can still do that. The Barre Code opens today as well, so I’ll start my classes there and I think once I’m really into a groove taking classes there, I will start to see some good change.
Anyway, back to those stats:
Additionally, since I’ve had to squat so much to lift things rather than bend my back this week (which is really what we should all be doing anyway, right?) I have decided to join in on a challenge Jillian Michaels has starting today. I posted it on my Instagram and Facebook page last week. It’s a 30-day squat challenge and I think it will be killer. It will totally target my trouble zone, so I hope to see some results! Join in if you dare!
I think the fun part will be the Facebook Live posts every few days. I will share those on my Facebook page!
Please wish me well on my back healing. Have a great week!
